Our location empowers our service. We're close to downtown and Winthrop. The United Way, Salvation Army, and Palmetto Pregnancy Center are nearby. Northside Elementary, Glencairn Garden and Confederate Park are our neighbors.

These are places and partnerships that we are trying to explore when it comes to loving and serving all God's children. Add in our own facilities with a full-sized gym and plenty of space, as well as people who have a heart to put faith into action, and there's potential.

Estimates place Rock Hill's homeless population at 300+, and this year Bethel hosted the city's winter shelter for homeless men from November to March.

It's something we'll keep pursuing, and you can join in.

Salkehatchie Summer Service began over thirty years ago as a local mission experience for youth and adults, and today there are some 50 camps (in SC, NC & GA) where almost 3,000 people serve each summer. For a week, groups repair the homes of those in greatest need.

Bethel has long attended the Penn Center camp in Beaufort, sending a team of 8-15. It's about work, fellowship, connecting to the home-owner, and the moving of God's Spirit.

Methodists have a presence nearly EVERYWHERE worldwide, and the United Methodist Volunteers in Mission (UMVIM) is a network of ways that we can connect to world missions.

We've been to Costa Rica, Honduras, Nicaragua, the Bahamas, Dominican Republic, the Blackfeet Nation in Montana & more. Call Lydia Willams at (803)327-7106 for the next trip.

We have an eye on health needs by taking part in Relay For Life each year, hosting blood drives for the community Blood Connection and health screenings from Life Line.

Bethel is involved with hunger issues in Rock Hill through the York County Crop Walk, donations to local food banks, and support for the Dorothy Day Soup Kitchen.

And we serve local kids through the work of the UMW at Northside Elementary, and through our connection to Rock Hill's Children's Attention Home.

*And YOU can help us find new ways to serve!
